Music Weekend Adam Wendler

This edition of Music Weekend is extra special to me. I get the opportunity to expose you to an artist from my small town. Things like that don’t happen too often so it’s fantastic when an opportunity comes along where you can share and pump the tires of someone from the same little dot in the Universe. I’m really proud of what Adam has been putting out there and how he continues to work and grow as he chases his dream.

I don’t know Adam personally but as often happens in small towns, know people who know him. For accuracy on Adam’s background, I have pulled his bio from the Electronic Press Kit on his website at Adam Wendler Music:

Adam Wendler is an independent multi-instrumentalist from Ontario, Canada, currently living in Berlin, Germany. Ever since picking up the guitar at the age of 15, he has been writing songs, dedicated to sharing his music with the world.

Adam has already independently released more than 50 songs on Spotify, including three full-length albums. He has also put out 13 official music videos as well as numerous live videos including features on Balcony TV and Berlin Sessions. Several of his songs have ranked in the Singer-Songwriter iTunes charts leading to airplay on national radio in both Canada and Germany (CBC Radio; radioeins). Adam’s music has been praised by numerous blogs and he has been included as a feature artist in ‘Akustik Gitarre’, one of Europe’s biggest acoustic guitar magazines.

Adam’s one-man-band live setup involves an acoustic guitar, his one of a kind vocal, a harmonica, a loop station, kick-drum and tambourine. His distinctive performances have shown to be both captivating and engaging – combining soft finger-picking with hard strumming, he draws acute attention from his audience. Adam has toured Germany and Canada extensively, along with areas in Australasia. He has played major festivals in Europe and North America such as Open Flair, Live at Heart and Kingsville Folk Music Festival (alongside Serena Ryder and the Milk Carton Kids). His diverse performance keeps large crowds in awe, which he has proven opening for artists such as Matt Mays, the Arkells and Ryan Sheridan. With his ever-growing setup, Adam has managed to replicate the sound of a full band being only one man.

Since 2018 Adam has been continuously collaborating with songwriters and producers in the Berlin music scene. He has played guitar on notorious ‘Beatstars’ tracks produced by producer icons Pacific, one of which (“Youth”) has already garnered over 7 Million views on YouTube alone.

His dedication is second to none and he is committed to taking his music as far as it can go, already planning his next releases leading up to yet another very special album.

Adam Wendler is definitely an artist to watch out for.

Some of you may remember me talking about him a few years ago and sharing a song called “This Feeling” from his Album “A Forward Moving Motion” released in February of 2017. My memeory is a bit foggy on where I first heard it. I’m leaning strongly to the radio. If I remember correctly the local radio station had a spot that featured local artists that was hosted by Kati Durst who appeared on Season 4 of Canadian Idol and finished in the Top 10.

Rather than me telling you where our little town is I will let you figure it out from Adam’s video for “Born a Travelling Man” from his July 2017 Album “Never Go Unknown”. The video shows Adam in various different locations around town. Hitch-hiking in and out of town, playing on a bench in the downtown “Courthouse Square”, out on the end of the south pier, on a train I suspect by the old rail station and while walking down the street by his friend’s house which is a block up the street from the house I grew up in.

“Never Go Unknown” is a really solid release which makes it difficult to pick one or two of the best to share here. Two videos that I want to share from this album are mainly because he shot them locally and show off some spots from around town which is kind of cool but there are more solid songs that I think should be shared. “Deep Water” and “It Feels Right” are two of my favourites but as I said before the whole album is solid.

“Deep Water” is a kick ass up tempo tune with an awesome concept for the video.

“It Feels Right” is a great toe tapper/mover and the video is Adam having some fun hamming it up.

“All or Nothing” is a song from Adam’s 2018 Album of the same name

Adam has finished recording his 4th full length album titled “The Compass” which is due to be released June 27 of this year. He is currently residing in Potsdam Germany. Due to the current state of the world Adam has of course had all gigs cancelled but he has been staying busy writing and creating. While staying isolated at home with his girlfriend he has also been performing some “balcony concerts” for the neighbourhood.

You can find Adam’s music on Spotify, Youtube,, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

I will leave you with one last video “Smoking Gun” recorded at Sigfried Meier’s Beach Road Studios just outside of town while Adam was home around Christmas.

I would love to see Adam get hooked up for an Audiotree Live Session and remember Adam Wendler is definitely an artist to watch out for.

If you make it back home this summer I’ll buy you a beer or 12 Adam. Cheers!
